Mid-Late 19th Century; An 18K yellow gold antique fob pendant with hand engraving and scroll designs, featuring running foxes. The fob has dual 9K yellow gold jump rings on the top and features a bezel set hand carved rectangular shaped amethyst intaglio depicting an additional fox scene, with a "Stole Away" banner at its base. The pendant semi-permanently hangs on a 9K yellow gold flat mesh style chain with a spring ring clasp. An antique Victorian gold and amethyst fox seal fob pendant (circa 1840–1880) is a 19th-century accessory originally used to stamp hot wax for sealing letters. Featuring a carved amethyst intaglio—often showing a fox, stag, or heraldic scene—set in engraved gold, these pieces served as symbols of status, personal identity, and sporting passion (fox hunting).
