Mid-Late 19th Century; Original, Frame 26.25” height by 17.25”.width x 18.5” length chatelaine. Extremely rare and important Victorian Ladies 7 chain chatelaine. Beautifully displayed in shadow box frame. 2.5” belt hook marked with English silver JR over SJ hallmark (Jacob Rosenthal and Co. Julius Rosenthal and Samuel Jacob 1885 hallmark) with engraved M. A. W. initial monogram. Beautiful medallion supporting (7) extended chains. Buckle is reticulated with classical cherubs, fruit clusters, with vines and leaves. Mid buckle has cherubs picking grapes. Lowest buckle shows single cherub. Accoutrements from left to right: 3.5” running dog, 1.75” height oval lidded vesta that repeats hallmark with letter N and has striker on bottom, 1.25” height oval reticulated thread spool, 2.5” height bottle with stopper has embossed classical figures and monogram with crest of eagle, .75” diameter we believe to be a tape measure with crank stamped L and S English hallmark with E, 2” height thimble case with repose work and figure, 3” height reticulated case with English hallmarks W profile lion anchor P. After close inspection, the chatelaine is currently mounted on board with string that could easily be removed. We will leave this mounted for presentation. We DO offer in house shipping. We DO NOT provide shipping estimates. We at Mebane Antique Auction Gallery, count it a privilege to be able to service our customers through our shipping department.
