Literature

Pre-Columbian Teotihuacan pottery is known for its figural vessels and other ceramic artifacts, which were created between c. 100 BCE and 800 CE, a period of the city's peak influence. These pieces, often used in rituals or as grave goods, were produced in large quantities using mold-pressed techniques and are characterized by their unique iconography and ceremonial grandeur. The term "canopa" likely refers to these figural and ceremonial pottery pieces, such as figurines, incense burners, and vessels, which provide insight into the culture's complex society and belief systems.
