Late 19th Century; Original, 97” height, 96” width, 20” depth; Beautiful and rare example made by Brunswick Balke Collender Co of beautiful mahogany woods, and an ivory inlay in an arts and crafts style. There are beautiful crown moldings throughout and the example is marked in center “Brunswick Balke Collender Co.” This two-piece cigar cabinet features five hinged upper doors in the top section with center opening flanked by two hinged compartments with interior dividers. Base has two upper visible hinged door drops with two blind panels matching below with galvanized metal interior, with a center drawer and blind hinged door. Overall condition is complete with all matching original hardware and structurally sound. This is an outstanding example in its original condition. Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. cigar store and saloon back bar cabinets are legendary turn-of-the-20th-century American masterpieces, defined by rich hardwoods, neoclassical carvings, and large integrated mirrors. The Golden Era: Produced from the late 1880s until the onset of Prohibition, the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company captured nearly 95% of the commercial bar market.
