Literature

Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. cigar store and saloon back bar cabinets are legendary turn-of-the-20th-century American masterpieces, defined by rich hardwoods, neoclassical carvings, and large integrated mirrors. The Golden Era: Produced from the late 1880s until the onset of Prohibition, the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company captured nearly 95% of the commercial bar market. Market Demand: Authentic modular setups routinely command high collector prices, with monumental matching front-and-back configurations fetching tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars depending on rarity and condition. Authenticity Markers: Look for original stamped manufacturer brand labels, cast-iron or brass hardware, and pencil-datings or serial tags on the reverse frame structure
