Early 20th Century; Original, 69” height, 14” width, 25” depth; Outstanding example of Roman column white porcelain body scale titled “Peerless Perfect Balance / Your Weight One Cent” with visible glass showing the interior components. Midbody has a die-cut porcelain shield marked “Did You Weigh Yourself To-day? / Peerless Weighing Machine Co. New York Pat.” The standing platform is marked “Peerless Scale.” It has the original back panel and brass coin slot located at the top of scale. The back of the scale has a minor chip at the upper rim and base, and the scale needs professional cleaning. Otherwise, the overall condition appears to be complete and original with excellent primary paint. Please view photos. The "Antique Peerless Perfect Balance One Cent Lollipop Scale" is a highly collectible Art Deco penny scale manufactured by the Peerless Weighing Machine Company (Detroit/New York) in the 1920s. Famous for its fluted, Roman column-style base, this specific model was famously featured in the 1973 film The Sting
