Literature
The 1948-1963 Benjamin Franklin silver half dollar set consists of U.S. half dollars minted from 1948 until 1963, when President Kennedy's assassination led to their replacement by the Kennedy half dollar. The coins are made of 90% silver and are popular with collectors for their depiction of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The series was designed by John R. Sinnock, and completed by Gilroy Roberts after Sinnock's death.
